Dr Grice partners with governments, industry, civil society, and international donors to address complex governance and capacity challenges.

Originally trained as an organisational psychologist, Tim brings diverse sectoral experience spanning natural resource management and infrastructure development, climate adaptation and disaster response, peacebuilding and justice reform, financial inclusion and enterprise development, and participatory community development.  

Building on this multi-disciplinary background, Tim provides research, advisory, and capacity development services across all scales of governance and development – from global systems and international frameworks, to national policy settings, to local community-led initiatives.   

Dr Grice also has significant experience leading high-impact evaluations focusing on multi-stakeholder governance and collective impact. He was recently appointed as the independent reviewer for the Panguna Mine Historical Impact Assessment, where his review findings will be delivered to the parties to the human rights complaint that has been registered through the OECD Australian National Contact Point.  

Tim's experience leading diverse teams across the Indo-Pacific and globally has established his reputation for work that is practical and grounded in local realities. Pioneering the establishment of Square Circle Studio, Tim uses digital storytelling as a participatory research methodology and a tool for communicating complex development insights to diverse audiences. 

Dr Grice’s practice is grounded in strong academic foundations. He holds a PhD in Organisational Psychology from The University of Queensland, has completed executive education from The University of Singapore and Stanford University, and holds certifications in risk management, auditing, and project management.
