INSIGHT

The School of Business and Public Policy (SBPP) is one of five schools at The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG). SBPP has positioned itself as the leading School of Business and Management in PNG, and one of the emerging Schools of Business and Management in the Asia-Pacific region.

ACTION

Square Circle was engaged through the Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct to support SBPP in the development of its new strategic plan. Our role was to facilitate the strategic planning process and provide support through business analytics and content development for the strategic plan.

Aligned with the UPNG’s planning process, the SBPP 2017–2021 plan was the result of an extensive consultation process with university and school staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders.

IMPACT

The SBPP 2017–2021 plan outlines a new vision and mission for the school, together with three strategic aspirations for SBPP’s role in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific – learning, discovery, and impact.

We are pleased to present our Strategic Plan 2017–2021 and welcome engagement from stakeholders in the journey ahead.

Professor Lekshmi N. Pillai, Executive Dean, UPNG SBPP

The School of Business and Public Policy has taken the initiative to build further on the whole-of-University Strategic Plan through a specific school-based workshop that targeted the development of key performance indicators for the tracking and delivery of longer-term goals and objectives of key strategic work areas. The SBPP Strategic Plan 2019–2023, has evolved from their workshop and the input of development partners and other stakeholders.
