FPIC Process for Invasive Mosquitoes in Zenadth Kes

Working with Square Circle’s partner, Indigenous 2 Indigenous, we developed a Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) process for the elimination of invasive mosquito-borne disease in Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait), Australia. The framework included a staged approach to consent, which included ‘permission to have a conversation’, sharing of information, collaborative co-design, formal agreements, and ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
